Nikon Girl music video, The Photo Club

By: JoeyLawrence

This is a story from not long ago
about a boy and a girl who fell in love like whoa
but there was a problem I didn't count on
the fact I was a Canon and she was a Nikon

The photo community was too far gone
they couldnt appreciate what we had goin' on
we had similar features, made similar pictures
we really weren't that different but they still couldn't see

I auto focused on her sexy body
buttons to push didn't know where to get started
I never thought I'd fall for a D200
but she was so hot, she was all that I wanted

My 1DS mark III
felt more complete
when we were together she said my shots were so unique

But soon you'll see
we could never be
like Romeo and Juliette
our families disagreed

Ohh Ahh Polish my lens girl
oooahh polish my lens girl
ohh-ahh polish my lens girl
dont leave a thumb print on that lense girl

The two sides always at war
all across the message boards
Dpchallenge what the fuck yo
they could never let go
of the hate no thats for 'sho
the Nikon gang whooped my ass and made me go

The 70-200 in my pants wouldnt fit inside her Nikon body
made me wear a UV-filter, which I'm against, but shes my shawtay
Mount her on my tripod and screw her on and off and on again
make her take my picture and say I'm the best thats ever been

Cause I'm a Canon gangsta and your a Nikon shawtay
I wanna take a picture of that rockin bootay

We couldnt keep the act up we just had to face the facts
but hey look on the bright side at least we're not a Pentax

Sanskrit Language: The Most Scientific, Ancient, Spiritual

Part 3:

Thinking Allowed - Sanskrit Tradition
Duration: 23:28
Taken: 04 June 2006
Location: Israel

Prof. Dean Brown points out that most European languages can be traced back to a root language that is also related to Sanskrit - the sacred language of the ancient Vedic Hindu religions of India. Many English words actually have Sanskrit origins. Similarly, many Vedic religious concepts can also be found in Western culture. He discusses the fundamental idea of the Upanishads - that the essence of each individual, the atman, is identical to the whole universe, the principle of brahman. In this sense, the polytheistic traditions of India can be said to be monistic at their very core.

What's wrong with our food system

11-year-old Birke Baehr presents his take on a major source of our food -- far-away and less-than-picturesque industrial farms. Keeping farms out of sight promotes a rosy, unreal picture of big-box agriculture, he argues, as he outlines the case to green and localize food production.

Indian condom ad

This is the most entertaining and informative condom ad I've ever seen. It's a bit long, but it's enjoyable to watch, and tells you EXACTLY why you would want/need protection. For the first time, I see a commercial that is selling protection without having use sex, or oversexualized imagery. I am very impressed, and wish ads in the US can be a fraction of what this video is.

The Bear - Film by Jean-Jacques Annaud

Film Review: Storytelling doesn't get much purer than this--a film with virtually no dialogue and not a minute that isn't fascinating, either for the plot it pursues or the way director Jean-Jacques Annaud gets his ursine stars to do what he wants. The story deals with a young cub who, after his mother is killed in a landslide, bonds to a lumbering male Kodiak. The two of them then must cope with an invasion of hunters into their territory--and Annaud makes it clear whose side he's on. Aside from stunning scenery, the film offers startlingly close-up looks at bear behavior. They say the best actors are the ones that let you see what they're thinking, a trick Annaud manages with his big, furry stars. --Marshall Fine

The Bear has all the marks of a classic. Lauded by animal rights groups for its respect for the integrity of all species, it manages to speak out eloquently against the senseless hunting of wildlife without having to depict killing to make its point. Instead, it emphasizes the ties that bind the human and animal worlds together. --Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat

ABC3D - a 3D book!

From the lenticular cover that changes with the angle of your hands, all the way to the Z, ABC3D is as much a work of art as it is a pop-up book. Each of the 26 dimensional letters move and change before your eyes. C turns into D with a snap. M stands at attention. X becomes Y with a flick of the wrist. And then there's U... Boldly conceived and brilliantly executed with a striking black, red, and white palette, this is a book that readers and art lovers of all ages will treasure for years to come.

MARION BATAILLE is graphic and book designer who has never before been published in this country. She lives in Paris. This is just a hand-made mock-up of the actual book which publishes in Oct. 2008. We couldn't be more excited about it.

Change for the Oceans

Given enough time, sea life could adapt to climate change. Sadly animals evolve far too slowly. But we can change as quickly as we choose to. Small actions can make a real difference.
